Do you take insurance?

I do accept most major insurance plans through Headway. In short, Headway processes insurance claims after each session, charging you either the copay or deductible amount that are stipulated by your individual insurance benefit plan. You can learn more about Headway by visiting their website. If you decide to use Headway to work with me, you can access my personal Headway site here to register.

I also work as an out-of-network provider if your specific insurance plan is not affiliated with Headway or you decide not to use their service. If you decide to utilize my services as out-of-network, I can generate an invoice or superbill after each session, which you will be able to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

How do I know what option is best or what my mental health coverage benefits are?

Many people are pleasantly surprised to learn about the mental health services that are covered by their individual insurance plans. Most mental health benefits go underutilized every year.

If you aren’t familiar with your specific policy and coverage terms, I suggest calling your insurance representative for clarity. Some questions you could ask:

  • What is my deductible?
  • What will my co-insurance payment be?
  • How many visits do I get per year?
  • Will I need authorization for my visits?
  • How do I submit a superbill to get reimbursement?

What are your hours of operation?

I try to see most new clients for Initial Visits on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but am flexible when my schedule allows for weeknight and weekend hours.

Are you certified to prescribe Medical Cannabis/Marijuana?

As a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in New York State, I am certified to evaluate and recommend medical cannabis for qualifying patients under the New York State Medical Marijuana Program. I follow the state's guidelines to ensure that medical cannabis is prescribed in a responsible and therapeutic manner, as part of an individualized treatment plan.

If you are considering medical marijuana as a treatment option for your condition, please schedule a consultation to discuss whether it may be appropriate for your needs.

Do you ever see clients in person?

I am working on establishing an office location in NYC that would allow for in person visits and will inform all clients when that option becomes available. Until then, all my services are rendered via HIPAA-compliant secure telehealth platforms.

Can I still register as a patient if we know each other personally or have friends in common?

Having lived in NYC area for 24+ years, my circle of friends and acquaintances has thankfully stretched from top to bottom of NY state. If you fall into one of those categories, we could consider this factor in our initial 15 minute phone call. Please know I dutifully uphold HIPAA privacy laws with all patients and hold confidentiality as a foundational tenet of my practice at all times.
